池塘里，荷花、鸭群、鸟群构成一幅热闹又不失悠闲的天地。

一般荷花生长在莲池里，绝不肯留有空间，藕根会到处乱窜乱长，绵延不绝，荷叶则长得密密麻麻，让你透不过气来。这里，为了画面的需要，我们还是留下一些空间，不使画面太过壅塞，而且也可以在花叶之下，画些鸭群与麻雀，呈现出一些趣味来。

这群绿头鸭在岸上热身好，准备下水了，呼朋引伴的。麻雀则是飞到另一边去另组聊天小天地。至于荷花如何缤纷，荷叶如何热闹，都不是它们关注的。

A pond with lotus blossoms, a flock of ducks, and flocks of birds creates a bustling yet serene little world.
Lotuses growing in a pond are ordinarily unwilling to leave any space. The lotus roots grow in an unruly, spreading mass, and the leaves grow densely on the surface. There's practically no room to breathe.

I left some space in this painting, however, because I didn't want it to be too congested. I also wanted to have enough room to paint a flock of ducks and some sparrows underneath the leaves and flowers, in order to give the painting more interest.

These mallard ducks are preparing to take to the water after warming up on the bank. These sparrows have summoned their friends to another side for a chat, not paying any attention to the profuse lotus blossoms and lush lotus leaves.＠
