It may not be a magic carpet — but this creation made entirely of flowers cast a sweet-smelling spell on residents who crossed its path in Tel Aviv.

The floral carpet was a gift from Brussels to mark the northern Israeli city's centenary.

Over a seven hour period, 100 volunteers carefully placed begonias and dahlias under the watchful eye of Belgian experts.
