有一個朋友，在某雜誌上介紹我，說我

老家那四畝地兒任其荒蕪，
卻要作心田的默默耕耘者。

是的，心田，我心中的良田！我可以拋去現實中的田地不耕，心中的良田，我一定要努力耕耘，以我的心思，以我的筆！

這個朋友沒到過我的舊居，只是聽我說，看我的人，竟寫得出來。其實我的舊居門聯是這樣的：

善為至寶一生用之有餘
心作良田百世耕之不盡

他的說法，和我舊居的門聯，若合符節。

心田，多麼好「耕之不盡」的良田！多麼富厚有潛力的良田！耕之再耕，耕之再耕，它的地利永遠不會衰竭消失，而且越耕地利越好！

心田，種些什麼？稻子？番麥？大豆？蔬菜？甘蔗？瓜果？……都可以！

耕下去！勤勉些！好好地把心田經營妥善！種子種下了！發芽長苗了！適當予以灌水，施肥，除害，作物便會日滋月長，漸漸繁茂，結出果實，成熟，可收穫。

「一分耕耘，一分收穫。」儘管流汗流血，多辛苦勞累，我一定要努力耕耘，以我的心思，以我的筆！

Farmland of Mind  Hsu ChiCheng

A friend introduced me on a magazine, said:

Let lies waste the land of four mu native place
But to be a silent tiller the farmland of mind

Yes, farmland of mind, the good land in my mind! I can cast away the real farmland on hand, I want surely make an effort to till my good farmland of mind with my idea, with my pen!

This friend hasn’t been to my native place, only heard I said, saw me, can wrote unexpectedly. In fact, the couplet on the door of my native place is thus:

The goodness is the best treasure can use with remainder for whole life
The good farmland in the mind can till endless for hundred generations

His statement is as similar as the two halves of a tally with the couplet of my native place.

Farmland of mind, how nice the good farmland “can till endless”! How rich and potential the good farmland! To till and till again, to till and till again, vantage ground can’t exhaust forever, and the more vantage ground the more till!

What will we plant on farmland of mind? Paddy? Corn? Soybean? Vegetable? Sugar cane? Melon? Fruit? …All is well!

Till! Diligently! Good deal with farmland of mind! Seed plant! Bud and seedling! Watering properly, fertilizing, eradicating scourges, crop will grow day after day, month after month, luxuriant slowly, bear fruit, ripe, harvest.

“As a man sows, so shall he reap.” Feel free to sweating and bleeding, how toilsome and weary, I will make an effort to till, with my idea, with my pen! @
