The burning summer sun is an invisible hammer
From the rice have grown out heads
It begins to do its upmost
To temper them all the time
It tempers the rice stronger and stronger
And their heads turn heavier and heavier
Golden and valuable as gold
Elegant and refined in manner
Even on the threshing floor
The sun still tempers them
Into fragrant and delicious
