是傍晚時候
要吃晚飯了
飯菜已備就
我往後院去喊父親吃飯
我邊走邊大聲地喊：
「爸，回家吃飯！」
他總是兀自忙著
常常忙得忘了吃飯
每次要被喊才會回來
我和我的喊叫聲音
穿過黑暗的空間
向四面八方搜尋……
可是，我找不到他
也沒有得到他的回應
他哪裡去了？
然後，我碰到了一個人
他在黑暗中和我相遇
告訴我，父親走了，不回來了
這是怎麼回事？
父親走了？不回來了？
我一下哭了

Time for supper
The food is ready
And I go out to call dad for supper
Walking and shouting:
“Dad, time for supper!”
He is always busy
So busy to forget his supper
Each time he has to be called back
I and my calling
Through boundless darkness
Searching in all directions …
But, I fail to find him
Nor do I get his reply
Where is he?
Later, I come across a person
Who encounters me in darkness
He tells me: my dad is gone, never to be back
How so?
My dad is gone? Never to be back?
I burst into tears
