牛是很認命的動物。牠們雖然有很強壯的身體、很堅硬的角，但他們很少發脾氣。

傍晚時，牛自己知道找回家的路。回到牛棚，跪臥下來，靜靜的反芻白天吃的草料，樂天知命。

鄉下地方，野樹叢生，枝椏亂長，這群水牛在池中浸泡一整天之後也該回家了，「外外外外」的呼朋引伴，快樂的結伴回家。

這幅畫裡描繪的是山腳下的農家，農人外出未歸，屋舍浸在暮靄中，在山色蒼茫，夜色悄然降臨之際，牛群自動回家的情景。

Oxen are fatalistic animals. Although they have great physical strength and hard horns, they seldom lose their temper.

Oxen know the way home when evening comes. When they return to their barn, they lie down and quietly chew the cud, which is derived from the grass they ate in the daytime. They are very easy-going.

In the countryside, in the midst of the tangled brush and trees, these water buffalo are ready to go home after soaking all day in a pond. They call each other together with a soft lowing sound, and happily go home with their companions.

This painting depicts a farm at the foot of a mountain. The farmer has gone somewhere, and dusk is falling over the buildings and sheds. As darkness descends on the mountains, the water buffalo know to go home on their own. ＠
