在那個冷冷的冬夜
一見面，她就說
請她先生開車載我
前往一看他們原來服務學校旁的蘭潭
蘭潭，很詩的這個名字
突然從五十幾年前轟響過來
那是我一直嚮往的名字
行走在冷冷的冬夜裡
樹木、水面及其他景物
包括她的面貌，包括故鄉的面貌
都一片迷濛，一片似曾相識
彷彿飄飛在傳說裡
難怪
距離是我年齡的大部分長度！
這是第一次相見
想當然不會是最後一次
雖則是在冷冷的冬夜
雖則是一片迷濛，似曾相識
印記卻比鋼鐵更堅固
永遠鐫刻在心間
發光，發熱

註：她是剛從嘉義大學退休的詩人官愛。有人說我們是父子，有人說我們是兄妹，因為我們都姓許，都出自屏東；其實我於去年十二月十五日夜才第一次和她見面。蘭潭，很詩的名字，我早聞其名，心嚮往之五十年以上了，卻遲至而今方始與之相見。這是奇緣，是詩牽的線。

First Meet That Winter Evening  Hsu ChiCheng

As we just met in the chilly winter evening
She said
She will let her husband to carry me
To go to Lantan stand by the school she held an office originally
Lantan, this poetic name
Roar toward me from more than about fifty years ago suddenly
It’s the name I long for until now

While walking in the chilly winter evening
The trees, water surface and other things
Includes her face, includes the face of birthplace
All were a piece of dim, a piece of some where in time
Like floating in hearsay
It’s no wonder
Distance is the bulk length of our ages!

This is the first time we meet
Of course it’ll not the last time
Though it’s in the chilly winter evening
Though it’s a piece of dim, of some where in time
The stamp is harder than steel
Curves on our minds forever
Shining, warming

Note: She is Kuan Ai just retired from National Chiayi University. Someone said we were father-son, someone said we were brother-sister, due to we both are Hsu in last name, both come from Pingtung ; in fact, I first met her on evening of December fifth. Nantan, a very poetic name, I heard its name early, long for it above fifty years, yet meet it till now. This is a strange luck, is wire pulling by poem.@
