Smoke was pouring out of an aircraft carrying Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou late on Sunday (November 1). The brakes on the Fokker 50 aircraft overheated after a short flight from the capital Taipei to the central city of Taichung.
日前週日(11月1日)載送台灣總統馬英九的專機冒煙。在從首都台北到中部城市台中的短暫飛行後，福克50專機的煞車盤出現溫度過熱的情形。

President Ma was escorted off the plane in good time. He’s called for a full safety check on the aircraft, which passed inspection in July.
馬總統及時被護送下飛機，他要求對飛機做徹底的安全檢測，這架專機在7月時通過檢查。

"I'm fine. I was calm at the unexpected event."

The jet’s brake pads and flattened back wheels had surfaces that melted in the heat.
