有一陣子，我喜歡用不同的色塊來構圖，表現出山水的氣勢，簡化那些高山大水成為一方一方不同層次的色塊，甚至連底下那些個樹叢，我們也把它簡化成像「傘」一樣的結構。如此做來，使畫面介於半具象半抽象之間，也比較可以讓人多「尋味」一下。

藝術的極致就是「簡化」。把物象簡化成半具象半抽象，說它像又不像，說它不像又有點像，在簡化的過程中自然也能簡化、淨化自我的心靈。

There was a time when I liked to use compositions consisting of different blocks of color to express the grandeur of mountain landscapes. I simplified the high peaks and great rivers as layered patches of color, and I even simplified trees and forests as little umbrella-shaped forms. These semi-realistic, semi-abstract paintings can give people plenty of room for using their imaginations.

Simplification is the essence of art. When objects have been simplified into semi-realistic, semi-abstract forms, you can say there is a resemblance, but it's also unlike, or you can say it's unlike, but there's also a resemblance. You can also naturally simplify and purify your soul in the simplification process.＠
