夜幕四合，一弯明月悬在天际，一疋云带横亘在山峦之间，像部队值星官披肩的布幔。

万籁俱寂，阒静的月、阒静的山、阒静的水，只有急欲归巢的三五只夜鹭飞过，偶尔发出嘎嘎的叫声。

──这就是典型的乡村夜之序曲。

我画月亮，有时先用空白纸剪一个月形，把它放在画中适当的位置上，然后再用牙刷、盘子把墨色刷上去。由于牙刷在盘沿刷墨，可以刷得极细。粉状的细点很匀衬的覆满在摆月亮的位置上。俟干后把纸片拿起来，一弯清月呈现在画上，像要跃飞起来的样子。不过，先声明：本图不是这样作出来的。

As the darkness of night falls, a crescent moon hangs in the sky, and a veil of cloud creeps through the mountains, like the cape worn by on-duty officers in the army.

All is still, and the moon, mountains, and water are silent. The only things moving are four or five night herons returning to their nests, and occasionally making their croaking sounds.

When I pinned the moon, I sometimes cut a blank piece of paper in the shape of the moon, and then place it in an appropriate location on the painting. I then use a toothbrush and plate to brush on ink. I found that I can make extremely fine strokes by moving the toothbrush along the edge of the plate, and the almost-powdery points of ink surround the location of the moon. I remove the piece of paper after the ink is dry, leaving the white shape of the crescent moon on the painting, as if it is about to leap up into space. However, I would like to note that I did not use that method in this painting. ＠
