我认为山水画用什么稀奇古怪的色彩来展现一座山、一片树林，都没有什么问题，可以随心所欲地画去，不必拘泥，顾虑太多反而画不好。

有些山远看清淡得很，愈近愈浓，呈蓝色或黑色，再更近去看就有墨绿或浅黄等不同的层次，变化万端。山雨欲来时有些山峰竟成紫灰色或红黛色，看到这些如此这般幻化万千的色彩，画画的人为什么要视而不见呢？张开眼睛不都是色彩缤纷的世界吗？所以我大胆的使用各种色彩来画山山水水，展现自我蕴藏于内心深处的丘丘壑壑，提醒自己要忠于这个世界色彩缤纷、幻化万端的特质。

I have no problem with using any strange colors to portray mountains and forests in my landscape paintings. I believe in painting as I wish, without any formal constraints. I believe that thinking too much will even hurt one's painting.

Some mountains appear dull-colored from far away, but blue or black from a closer viewpoint, and assume shades of dark green and pale yellow, etc. close-up. There is tremendous variation in the colors of mountains. When rain is falling, some peaks appear purplish-gray or reddish-black. Why is it that painters often fail to appreciate these kaleidoscopic, ever-changing colors? When we open our eyes, his is not an endlessly colorful world?
