雙手幾乎難以捧起的
心間幾乎難以承接的
好重好大的
這一串葡萄！

粉綠的晶珠
每顆都鼓脹飽滿
泛溢著友情的芳香
包裹著友情的瓊漿

比翠玉更珍貴的
這一串葡萄
令我捧得手顫
令我接得心動

註：一九九九年八月十七日下午，在吐魯蕃民族訪家，我禁不起隔鄰葡萄園裡串串葡萄的誘引進園拍照。未幾，主人前來，竟採一大串葡萄相贈。這一串「好重好大的」葡萄，我真的承受不起。謹在此獻上我的萬分感謝。

A Bunch of Grapes Hsu ChiCheng

How large and heavy
This bunch of grapes is!
Too heavy to be held in my both hands
Too large to be placed in my heart

Each grape is green, rounded
Sparking and crystal-clear
Sending forth fragrance of friendly sentiments
Including the nectar of friendship

This bunch of grapes
More valuable than jadeite
Makes me hold it with trembling hands
I receive it gratefully and excitedly

Note: In the afternoon of August 17,1999, when visiting a family in Turpan Depression, I was unable to stand the temptation of bunches of grapes at the next door and entered that yard to take a picture. Not long afterwards, the host of the next door picked a large bunch of grapes and gave me as a present. I have been deeply moved by “this large bunch of grapes”. So I express my grateful feeling by this poem.@
