在涂满黄昏色彩的时候
我伴同黄昏低沉的年龄
踩着黄昏蹒跚的脚步
远从南方来访淡水
将三十几年的沧桑幻绘为暮色：
老街的胡须一定三千丈了
红毛城的头发一定漂上面粉了
山容、水面一定爬满皱纹了
关渡大桥一定弯腰驼背了
还不时传来谁的断续咳嗽声……
不意，不意呀不意
亮在眼前的却以一股强劲海风
频频予我脆响的巴掌：
捷运犁翻旧土
红树林依旧茁长繁盛
一棵棵大厦长得既高又壮
老街从捷运站一路胖到街尾
红毛城蜕化成翩翩蝴蝶
游人塞爆大街小巷山径水湄……
一对年轻情侣从我身边走过
抛洒给我满身心细碎笑语
从独思中醒转，我顿悟
淡水暮色已然更新：
一片余辉张挂起
缤纷彩霞
嗯，夕阳无限好
明天将更灿亮
Ode to the Eventide of Danshui Hsu ChiCheng
—Once More to Danshui after 35 Years
When it is besmeared with the eventide color
Accompanying the deep and grave age of eventide
In step with the faltering footsteps of eventide
I come to visit Danshui from the south
Vicissitudes of over thirty years are transformed into the dusk:
Beard of the old street must be over three thousand feet
Hair of the Red Hair City must be bleached with flour
Hills and rills must be covered with wrinkles
Kwan-tu Bridge must be hunched
And punctuated with whose coughing…
O quite out of expectation
What is bright before the eyes with a gust of strong sea wind
From time to time to give me crisp spank:
The MRT is ploughing the old soil
The mangrove is still lush and luxuriant
An edifice after another is sturdy and high-rising
The old street is fat from MRT Station all the way to the end of the street
The Red Hair City is transformed into fluttering butterflies
Streets and lanes and mountain paths and watercourses are choked with tourists…
A pair of young lovers pass by me
Besprinkling me with fine and minute laughters
Awakened from solitary meditation, it suddenly dawns to me
The eventide of Danshui has been updated:
A remnant splendor is hung up
Rosy clouds in riotous profusion
Oh, infinitely beautiful is the setting sun
Tomorrow will be more brilliant
